Getting Started…

Required for every student:

• Short nails (they can still be fun!)

• A dedicated practice time

• A chair without arms, that does not slope back

• A music stand (while a solid stand is preferred,
  a folding stand is perfectly acceptable)

• A dedicated pencil (no pens, no markers)

• A soft, clean cloth

Required for violin & viola students:

• A shoulder rest (Kün or Everest recommended)

• Quality, light rosin (such as Hidersine, Hill, etc.)

• A quality instrument from a reputable dealer

  • I am more than happy to consult!

  • Please no instruments from Amazon!

  • Violins are measured in fractions, whereas
    violas are measured in inches

Required for cello students:

• An endpin strap/rock stop (strap is preferred, but both come in handy in certain instances)

• Quality, dark rosin (such as Hidersine, Hill, etc.)

• A quality instrument from a reputable dealer

  • I am more than happy to consult!

  • Please no instruments from Amazon!

  • Cellos are measured in fractions
